The Re-Engineering
services of EDS division
address the industry
requirements for
continuous product
up-gradation and
enhancement of features
by redesign of existing
H/W or Firmware.
Typically these products
could have been designed
10-15 years ago using
4/8 bit
micro-controllers which
are presently obsolete,
and can be re-engineered
with advanced 16/32 bit
microprocessors and
components to extend the
life cycle of the
products while enhancing
their features.
Projects Executed
The EDS division has
successfully executed
several projects in the
Re-Engineering area,
thereby assisting
several customers to
address the issues of
product obsolescence to
their complete
satisfaction. Some
example projects include
Re-Engineering
of
industrial
timers
by
porting
the
hardware
and
firmware
from
OKI
chipset
to
Motorola.
Re-Engineering
of Photo
Electric
Transmitters
used in
process
industry
for
assembly
line
control.
In the
course of execution of
such projects, the EDS
design team has
suggested and
implemented several
advanced features in
these products, which
have enhanced the
utility of these
products while
optimizing production
costs.
