Verification and Validation
 
The Verification and Validation services of the EDS Division enable customers to outsource the critical and tedious process of hardware/software testing. Experienced Test Engineers implement the testing processes as per customer specific and industry specific standards (such as Cenelec) and provide documentation to suit the customer needs. The testing services encompass Complete FRS (Functional Requirement Specification), SDS (Software Design Specification), FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), IQ (Installation Qualification), OQ (Operational Qualification), PQ (Performance Qualification), UAT (User Acceptance Test).
 
In the Rail and Healthcare domain, EDS division has executed critical projects for global majors in the area of verification and validation in compliance with applicable standard. The services offered included generation of test cases, Verification, Validation and documentation.
 
Infotech has executed software verification & validation projects in Domestic appliances for Personal Healthcare domain. The type of projects executed are about Testing, Code review & Analysis, Failure Mode Effect & analysis (FMEA). In V&V process the product requirements are studied. Based on the requirements, the regressive test procedure is prepared along with required set up. An independent test engineer executes these tests to verify the design. In the code review, the Software code is reviewed and analyzed. The steps involved in code review are code standard verification, code syntax check, code data type check, memory allocation check, memory leak check, program function check, infinite & nested loop check, interrupt handlers check, code coverage analysis. In FMEA, the failure in the software function is considered and the code behavior is analyzed. The various effects involve failure with in the function, effect on other functions and overall system effect. The causes of these failures are also indicated. In this process, three parameters are measured – Severity, Occurrence rate and Detection possibility.
